Filing a false police report is a crime under the Texas Penal Code (TPC 37.08) and is considered a Class B Misdemeanor.
This system will allow you to submit a police report immediately without having to wait for an officer to take the report.
You can now file an online police report for the following kinds of crimes:
Theft from a Motor Vehicle (Burglary of a Motor Vehicle)
Hit and Run Crash
Identity Theft
Credit Card Abuse
Internet Fraud
Theft
Vandalism or Graffiti
Minor Auto Accidents
Please note, if you are reporting theft or damage to university property, you must report by phone at 512-245-2805 or in-person at UPD.
ATTENTION: If you are reporting that a firearm has been stolen, you must make that report in person at the Police Department (1321 Academy St.) or by calling (512) 245-2805.
ATTENTION: UPD will not accept online reports where the suspect is a juvenile. If this is the case, please contact UPD Dispatch at (512) 245-2805.
Police reports submitted online are treated the same as reports written by officers. Once you submit your report you will receive a message on the screen confirming that your online police report has been submitted. You will also be given a confirmation number, and you will be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.
Please Note:
Crimes or incidents reported online must have occurred:
On-campus (anywhere)
On-campus student housing
Public property within campus bounds
Public property immediately adjacent to the campus
Non-campus buildings and property owned or controlled by the organization that are used for educational purposes and frequently used by students but not a part of the core campus, or those owned or controlled by a student organization officially recognized by the institution.
All cases filed using the online reporting system will be reviewed.
Upon review, if further investigation of your case is warranted, you may be contacted by the police department.
