Students Protecting Students
This program is co-directed by UPD and TSUSG and employs Texas State University students to supervise and administer the program. This program demonstrates UPD’s commitment to the six pillars of 21st Century Policing, specifically Community Policing and Crime Prevention. This partnership provides added facility security on campus while creating crime prevention and detection opportunities. “Students Protecting Students.”
Student staff are the face of Student Safe Rides. Friendly, courteous, and prompt service is expected and essential.
- Students must present their Bobcat Card at the time of pick-up.
- All passengers must be buckled for the entirety of the ride.
- The last request for rides will be 15 minutes prior to the end of service.
- Rides will not be provided for special events.
- All passengers must be present at the time of vehicle arrival.
Students will be picked up only on TXST property within San Marcos.
Rides can be requested to be dropped off either on or off campus within limit.
Students will not be picked up off campus unless approved.
Rides will not be provided for special events, such as:
- Football games (while the shuttle service is operating)
Students will not be taken to the Square or bars.
